Barred Owl

For about a month now, we have been sharing our little woods with a beautiful Barred (or Hoot) Owl. The first night we heard it, we thought Elora was crying. Then we listened again...here's a typical call. It's been great to get the binoculars out with the kids and get a closer look of our friend. Olivia has named it "Barn Barn" even though I've been trying to get her to say "barrrrrrrrred."

So, I bought a new JVC camcorder....it's zoom is better than my lame old point and shoot; here's what I captured with it.


This tree is located right above and over our back deck.
