Labor Day weekend started with Steve getting off early and we headed to Pirate's Cove (Wilson Jr High Pool.) There were only 2 other families there, so it was like our own big private pool. Big Surprise...Olivia can swim!! We didn't know this. The previous Sat she had a play/swimdate with her friend Greenlee who knows how to swim...apparently she picked it up from her. She starts swim lessons in two weeks at a private place in Omaha called Swimtastic...child-centered, warm pool, only 4 kids per class...I think she'll do great! Thanks Greenlee!! There is a great slide at this pool -- shaped like a pirate ship, see pic above....Elora was loving it. The two of them would slide down holding hands...so sweet it makes you weak!!

Monday was the annual Labor Day Parade in downtown Omaha. Steve's union has walked it for years and he is in charge of getting the float (it's a running elevator on a trailer) together. So, I brought the girls over later and we watched half the parade (Olivia LOVES the bands and NOT the candy!) and then joined Steve as they came by....really hot, but fun. Elora's birthday party was later that day...Grandma Cindy, Papa and Great Grandma O came over for cake, ice cream and presents.

She had two big balloons on her chair...really loved the cake. Olivia helped me make it and she decided Elora would like green frosting...so we colored it. Elora had cake in her eyes and hair...but not too terrible!

Our attempt at a family photo....not very realistic right now...Elora never quits moving...just like her sister!
Elora really dug into this "Elmo" bag full of presents. Olivia was having a little bit of a hard time with Elora getting all the attention...not too bad though. I think they both equally enjoyed all of Elora's toys! Elora really liked the cash from Grandma O and Great Beautiful Aunt Kris...she wouldn't let me have it!
It was a really great weekend and I am amazed at the movement of time. Olivia is such a big clever girl and Elora is just a little Chunk 'O Love! Year two of preschool started this week and this weekend we are taking Olivia to Adventureland while my mom watches Elora....she needs some special time (and I finally get a ROLLER COASTER!! YEAH! It's been 5 years...we'll see if I'm too old now!!

Great pictures and video! I can't believe it's been a whole year since sweet little Elora came shining into this world so tiny and new. The time seems like a blur. Before we know it the girls will be graduating high school! Embrace all these wonderful moments...
